Deer Hunting Stands

- Be sure to build your hunting stand way before the hunting season starts so that the deer would get used to its presence.

- Find the perfect spot to set up your deer hunting stand. But how do we find the ideal spot? Deer trail intersections, feeding regions, sleeping regions and watering holes are good spots to set the hunting stand up.

- Make sure that the passing deer would not be able to see you.  Build a high enough hunting stand in order to do this because deer actually do look up.

- Also make sure that the deer would not catch a whiff of your scent and that you would not leave odours on the deer trails.

- Try to avoid crossing any area where deer might be present in order for you to find the perfect spot for your hunting stand. Plan back routes for you to use to go in and out so that the deer would never sense your presence.

- Survey the area and take a glimpse at the particular trees in there before you decide whether you should use the climbing stand, ladder stand, or a hang on stand.

- Get ready to wait for long hours.  You are going to be surprised at how greatly natural wildlife will carry on with their everyday activities without ever knowing that you are actually present.

- Set up the hunting stand down wind of the perfect spot that you could find.

Some examples of the types of deer hunting stands are the tower stand, deer skinner, tree house, box stands, penthouse, ladder blinds, ladder stands, lock-on’s, crossbow stand, deer feeders, tripod stands, ground blinds and tree climbers.
